Remembrance

Impressive career and original personality of prof. Jan Marszał made him a role model of teacher, educator, pedagogue, school headmaster and simply of a human. Jan Marszał is the best example of humanity. His calmness during whole life, “scout perseverance”, respect for other people created his image in memory of everyone who knew him personally.

Prof. Jan Marszał is unquestionably a completely unique figure. As his daughter Ms. Elżbieta Halicka recalls, he couldn’t stand wastage in all matters. Therefore he used his pencils to their last millimeters and collected sheets of paper on which students wrote their short tests on. He walked fast, never been late for lessons and wrote their subjects during the breaks to save time. Even his death was symbolic. He died just before his first lesson in teachers’ lounge. The pocket of his blazer contained his original poem.
